Time is like a spiral. Annually, on the anniversary of any momentous event, we have the ability to tap into the same spiritual energy that originally caused that event.
When you were born, G‑d invested within you a soul abounding with talents and qualities. Your Mazel was shining and at full strength. That same energy is present once again every year on the anniversary of that date. On this day you have the ability to accomplish that which would perhaps be very difficult on another day.
Rosh Hashanah is so special because it is the birthday of humankind. Your birthday is your personal Rosh Hashanah – utilize it to its utmost!
Things you should do on your Birthday:
· Gather with Friends and Family for a ‘farbrengen’ (a joyous gathering/party which includes words of Torah, charity,study refreshments, l'chaim and celebration). (Let us do the work - sponsor a kiddush lunch at Chabad House and celebrate your birthday with family and friends.)
· Learn some extra Torah(Our Birthday Study Offer: you invite some friends to your home or office and we'll provide you with a personal one-hour class on one of the many topics offered.)
· Say the new chapter in the book of Tehilim (psalms) which corresponds to your age. (e.g. if you're 29, you say chapter 30)
· Make a new resolution in your observance of a Mitzvah and/or an act of goodness and kindness which will bring Moshiach NOW!
· Pray with extra concentration. Your energy pipeline is amazing on this day - use it!
· Do an extra deed of kindness to your fellow man/woman. Allow the power of your special day work even more good in somebody else's life.
· Give Extra Tzedakah—Charity
